Planting hope is a concept that is quite simple yet powerful. The events of September 11, 2001 have left a profound impact upon the United States and world that we will never forget. Scott Hamilton made this comment at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake: "Right now the world needs to see the world at its best." The desire to find the best inside each of us to share and care with our community and the world is what Planting Hope is all about.Students at Alta Elementary in Reedley, California, are teaming with West Carthage Elementary in West Carthage, New York, in developing this project. The intent is for the project to spread far beyond these two schools and communities. Planting Hope is designed to encourage and support groups and individuals of our communities that reach out and plant hope for the local area, country, and the world.
The efforts may be big or small, all of us can make a difference. The hope and vision is that this concept will go from sea to shining sea, cross oceans, and reach out around the world. How do you contribute to this project? It is quite simple. Share your story, make connections, and see what positive things begin to happen.
Planting Hope makes connections with Papua New Guinea Does your school, business, club, church, organization, or a special volunteer have ways that actively help others, protect the environment, or reach out in some unique way to plant hope? It can be as simple as a canned food drive, recycling project, scholarship program, or as complex as helping find a cure for a rare disease. How does it make a difference and plant hope? Here are some sample questions you might consider in sharing your story. Please include a photo or image if available and any contact information and connections you want added.
